Joe Durham Annual Scholarship

Joseph P. (Joe) Durham, Jr. was born in Dawson, Georgia in 1978. He graduated magna cum laude from Valdosta State University in 2000, and then attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2003. Mr. Durham was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Mercer Client Counseling Team and the Advanced Writing, Research, and Drafting Program. Upon graduation from law school, he returned to Southwest Georgia.

Mr. Durham’s practice is devoted to civil litigation and trial practice with an emphasis on professional negligence, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Durham also has a significant divorce and family law practice. Over the years, Mr. Durham has represented clients is all parts of Georgia.
Who Should Apply
This award seeks female students with diverse backgrounds of race, ethnicity or faith, obtain the degree of their choice from any eligible college, university, graduate school, or law school. Applicants are encouraged to apply in fields in which women have traditionally been underrepresented: science, math, engineering, technology, business, and law. Applicants must be enrolled in or committed to attend a college, university, or professional school during the current calendar year in which they applied for the scholarship. Applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of their application. Applicants should not be immediate family members of employees of the Joe Durham P.C. law office.
